Then apply now for the job of Safety Health and Environment Engineer (SHE Engineer) at Boskalis! As a SHE Engineer you and your colleagues will be part of the Offshore Energy SHE-Q pool. That said, you will spend a considerable part of your time on project sites or for tenders in the Netherlands. The SHE-Q department facilitates and monitors the health and safety of the people who work for and with us, as well as being responsible for protecting the environment and project quality. Our philosophy on these topics is enshrined in our NINA (No Injuries, No Accidents) and WoW (Way of Working) programs. We deploy our experts on the very diverse and often complex offshore and dredging projects undertaken by Boskalis around the world, including offshore wind farm installation, offshore installation, subsea inspection, repair and maintenance, decommissioning and offshore support services. As a SHE Engineer you will be the program pilot for NINA and WoW, acting as a sparring partner to the business and providing both solicited and unsolicited advice in the areas of safety, health and the environment. The job of SHE Engineer is wide-ranging and varied but in an average working week your main tasks and responsibilities will include: – Providing support in the area of risk management, for example risk assessments, hazard analyses and reviewing assessments and analyses during the various stages of a project; – Building a constructive client relationship with consideration for the contractual agreements; – Providing advice to the project management teams and to SHE-Q Business Unit Management; – Implementing the SHE-Q policy and any necessary changes to it; – Facilitating SHE-Q training sessions for the NINA and WoW programs; – Compiling and writing SHE-Q reports; – Keeping project management systems up-to-date with project procedures and reports, etc.; – Maintaining contacts with subcontractors, clients and governments; – Conducting and supervising internal and external audits (subcontractors/clients); – Working on (increasing) awareness with regard to safety, for example by finding a positive way to make colleagues enthusiastic, and motivating and coaching them in this area. Job requirements —————- You are a skilled sparring partner in the area, with an exceptional ability to work independently and always according to plan. You have an eye for detail but never lose sight of the bigger picture. You are second to none when it comes to creating support for our SHE-Q philosophy among colleagues and thereby maximizing awareness of this crucial topic. In so doing you stand your ground, even when confronted with different opinions and ideas. In addition you will: – have a professional and intellectual level equal to higher vocational education (HBO) level and either have a NEBOSH diploma in safety and security management or environmental management or be prepared to obtain this; – have at least around two to three years’ experience in advising and supporting organizations in implementing and executing SHE-Q policy; – have experience or interest in pragmatic, behavioral-based SHE-Q in the oil & gas industry, maritime industry and/or civil engineering sector; – have the ability to engage in discussion across the full range of SHE-Q topics; – have experience in working in an international organization and a flair for dealing with different cultures; – have a perfect command of written and spoken English; – Living in the Netherlands or Belgium (or prepared to do this). Additional information ———————- The job of Safety Health and Environment Engineer (SHE Engineer) is a full-time position, reporting to the SHE-Q Manager of Business Unit Marine Installation. Your performance and development will be coordinated with the SHE-Q Pool Manager. Work is performed mainly from a Dutch-based office at Breda/Papendrecht.
